Love at first song...
She's trapped in her own self-doubt while he's planning a future alone, but one morning shower song is about to change everything...

Ella Simmons does not want to move across the country, but her boyfriend has persuaded her to join him at UChicago to finish out her college education. Never having the confidence to refuse him, she hops on a plane and makes the trek from LA, expecting to adjust to life like she's often forced to. But things take a complicated turn when she hears a luscious voice singing over her shower wall. His deep, sexy tenor makes her weak in the knees, spreading fire through her limbs and making her question everything about her life and relationship.

Can one voice really have that much of an impact?

Cole Reynolds is on his way out. In his final year at UChicago, the only thing he wants to do is finish school and get on with his life. But the sweet voice that interrupts his morning shower turns his world upside down. Compelled to find his shower songbird, he begins a search across campus. The only thing to distract him from this goal is his roommate's gorgeous girlfriend who's just arrived from LA - Ella Simmons.

Relationships are put to the ultimate test as future dreams are questioned and friendships are thrown on the line for love.

  • I didn’t want it to end!!!

Oh Cole and Ella...it’s not every day you read a book and instantly become the main character but I did today! I resonated with Ella so quickly despite the age difference. Their love story is lovely and the soundtrack has been playing in my head all day. I didn’t want the book to end. Definitely a must read!
  • A story of dreams and love

Of course when you go into a romance novel, you know that character A and character B are going to end up together. When character A already has a boyfriend, it really makes you want to follow the adventure on how they end up in the arms of character B. I love how they slowly come to the realization that they are meant for each other. I love how they slowly extract the boyfriend from the equation without labeling him as a huge jerk or making him do something awful. Very relatable if yet unlikely love story.

Don't waste your time with this book. The lead girl is pathetic. I don't know why anyone would want her. If a person can't determine they want to be happy then they deserve to be miserable. Her whiny and weak personality got really old and I lost complete interest in the book.

I absolutely loved this story. I could so relate to the passions of Ella & Cole --- great music & real dancing, which to me are the height of true romance. I felt that way in my younger years & still feel that way today when I am so much older. My "boyfriend" of those early years, who is my "husband" of 52 years, & I saw the magic in these passions. This makes us think (& feel) that we are still young. Thanks for a great book!
  • Not the HEA I expected...Spoiler alert!

I really wanted Ella to end up with Cole...but not like that. I stopped reading after ch. 33. After all the sweetness and tension, THAT simply wasn't the right way to get them to finally be together. I already liked Ella less after she initiated sex with David while thinking of Cole. As for Cole, it was total douchebag move hooking up with Ella literally minutes after she humiliated David at David's 21st bday party. Hello? Best bud? David, dude, you're so dang lucky to have them both in your life!
